Welcome to my Little Lodge!
Since our children are all grown up, we’ve had an empty corridor of bedrooms at the end of the house, that only brought darkness and wasted opportunity.
So, I decided to utilise it into a beautiful, self-contained annex that I could rent out to guests from all over, somewhere comfortable that they could stay and make memories.
So that’s what I did!
I left the construction work down to my partner whilst I designed the space and planned what Autentico colours would complement both the furniture and the walls.
That’s when I spotted the yellow chair…
I was speechless. I’d never fallen for an item of furniture so quickly before. My original colour palette for the Little Lodge was instantly scrapped when I laid eyes on this chair.
The vision had shifted, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my space.
For the living room, I chose Silver in a Versante Matt finish, to make it super easy to clean if my guests were to spill anything on the walls, and to really enhance the staple piece of the yellow chair without taking away any attention.
All of the furniture that makes up the living room would be upcycled and layered with Autentico Vintage paint in Mystique and Yellow Roses (what a fitting name!).
These two shades create a natural and earthy feel throughout the room, with mellow green and yellow tones. The rich colour and environmentally-friendly features make this the perfect paint for a family home – when I have pets or toddlers staying in my Little Lodge, they are protected from any harmful toxins or chemicals.
We polished off the living room by using Autentico Versante in Egg Shell on all of the framework and added curtains and a rug to match!
What a beautiful transformation… changing a dark space into a beam of light and sunshine, with the help of Autentico paint.
Then it was to start on the open plan kitchen… I can’t wait for you to see it next week!
Thank you for reading.
